We replace windows. We don't repair glass.

Carp’s replaces the whole window. Sash, jamb, and frame out to the rough opening, a new Marvin unit set at the nail flange, flashed and foamed before the trim goes back. That’s what fixes a cold room. The cold was never the glass.

We don’t do glass. A cracked pane, a cloudy failed seal, or a broken crank in a sound frame is a glass shop’s job, and they’ll be quicker and cheaper.

Press the sill with your thumb. If the wood gives or crumbles, water has been sitting there a while, and that one is ours. Catch it early.

We install all types of windows, including:

Window Replacement FAQs

Window replacement can vary depending on factors like the type of window and how many you need. On average, full-frame window replacement will run about 10% of your home’s value.

For Marvin windows, you’re looking at an estimated cost between $25,000 and $40,000, depending on the specifics.

Of course, these prices are just rough estimates, so we recommend contacting us so we can come in, measure, see what types of windows you want, and then we can give you a more accurate quote.

As the first authorized Marvin dealer, we receive preferential manufacturer pricing, and we pass those savings directly to you, without adding unnecessary markups.

Typically, replacing windows takes about 1-2 days for a full-frame replacement. The process is efficient, and each window is only open for a few minutes during the installation, so you won’t have to deal with your home being exposed for long.

Replacing your windows is one of the best home upgrades you can make. It significantly boosts energy efficiency, helping you save on heating and cooling costs.

New windows also improve natural light and reduce noise, making your home more comfortable and peaceful. On top of that, they enhance your home’s value: buyers love energy-efficient, well-maintained windows.

Modern windows require much less maintenance, so you’ll save time and effort over the years. It’s an investment that pays off in both comfort and long-term savings.

U-factor measures how well a window prevents heat from escaping your home. The lower the number, the better the insulation. For Nebraska’s winters, we look for windows rated at 0.30 or lower. Anything higher and you will feel it in both your comfort and your energy bill.

Low-E glass has a microscopic metallic coating that does two jobs at once. In winter, it reflects heat back into your home. In summer, it blocks radiant heat from the sun so your air conditioner is not fighting an uphill battle. It is standard in every Marvin window we install, not an optional upgrade.

Almost always a replacement. Once rot reaches the sill or the jamb, patching buys a season or two while moisture keeps moving into the wall. We take the opening back to bare framing, flash it, spray-foam it, and set a new Marvin fiberglass unit to the nail flange, which is what actually stops the water.

For homes in Nebraska, we recommend full-frame wood or fiberglass windows. These materials offer excellent insulation and are built to withstand our tough weather. Marvin offers several great options, like fiberglass-clad/wood and pure fiberglass windows, that balance durability and aesthetic appeal.

Some older windows may be replaced with pocket windows, but this can reduce the glass area slightly, which could be an issue for egress requirements in bedrooms or basements. If you’re unsure about the best fit for your home, we’re here to help guide you toward the right choice.

While it’s possible to replace windows yourself if you have the right skills and tools, it’s a tricky job that requires precision. If you’re not experienced, hiring a professional is definitely the best option. A pro will ensure the job is done properly, which means better performance, energy efficiency, and long-term durability.

The window warranties we offer depend on the manufacturer, but whatever the brand you choose to go with, we’ve got you covered so that you can live in your home worry-free. For more details about our warranties, please check out our Warranty page.

No. Carp’s does full-frame replacement, so glass-only repairs, re-glazing, and pane swaps sit outside what we do. If your frame is sound and you just need glass, a local glass company will be faster and cheaper. If the frame is rotted or failing, that’s our work and we’d be glad to look at it.

Fogging means the seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. Some glass companies can swap that sealed unit inside your existing frame. We don’t do that work. What we do is replace the whole window when the frame has also reached the end of its life, which is usually the case by the time seals start going in an older home.

We don’t. Cranks, balances, sash cords, locks, and latches all sit outside full-frame replacement. If the hardware failed because the frame has swelled or shifted, that’s a different conversation and worth a look from us.

We Only Install Full-Frame Replacement Windows. Here's Why That Matters.

When most window companies say “replacement window,” what they actually mean is a pocket window, also called an insert. They slide a new glass unit inside your existing old frame and call it a day.

It is faster for them, cheaper to install, and easier to quote. But it leaves your old, deteriorating frame exactly where it sits, and your home keeps losing heat the same way it did before.

At Carp’s, we don’t do inserts. Every window we install is a full-frame replacement using the nail flange method. The old frame comes out completely, the opening gets flashed and spray-foamed directly to the framing, and a brand-new window goes in from scratch.

This is why we cost more than other companies, and it’s why our customers see a real difference in comfort and energy bills year after year.

Before you accept any window quote, ask the company one question:

“Is this a full-frame replacement or a pocket insert?”

The answer will tell you everything about what you’re actually getting.

Pocket Window / Insert — What Most Companies Sell

  • Old frame stays in place, including any rot or deterioration
  • Cold air continues leaking through the trim and old frame
  • No new insulation added to the wall cavity
  • Reduces visible glass area because the new frame sits inside the old one
  • Lower upfront cost, but does not address the root problem

Carp's Full-Frame Replacement — Installed to the Nail Flange

  • Everything removed down to the rough opening
  • Opening flashed and spray-foamed directly to the framing
  • Complete reseal of your home’s thermal envelope
  • Maintains or increases your natural light and glass area
  • Marvin fiberglass frames built to perform in Nebraska’s extreme weather

One consequence worth stating plainly: because we only do full-frame work, we don’t take glass-only jobs, seal repairs, re-screening, storm window repair, or hardware fixes.

Those need a different crew and a different van.

What we do take on is a frame that’s rotted, drafty, sagging, or painted shut, along with egress sizing for bedrooms and basements, single failed windows, and whole-home replacements.

Carp’s Complete Extetiors did a Fantastic Job on the Siding of my house. As well as great work on the 2 sky lights & bay window.

Elijah always contacted me in advance as to what project the crew would be working on daily. He would follow up to make sure that I was pleased with the work.

He also made sure each step of the project met his expectations of the quality of work done. Elijah would stop by on a consistent basis to check on the crew’s work. I would highly recommend Carp’s Complete Exterior.

My neighbors would also comment on how they loved the new appearance of my home.
